Online Classes Led to My First Solo Trip

My classes were online. Covid canceled my internship in Kenya. I felt trapped and confined to my childhood bedroom.

So, I booked a flight, convinced my sister to let me borrow her car, and officially took my first solo trip road-tripping through geysers, giant trees, and gigantic dunes.

My solo trip to find solace and scenery turned into something quite stressful. Hiking alone in bear country scared me. Busting my tire at midnight along the freeway freaked me out.

Did I mention I was severely dehydrated in the hottest place on the Earth?

My first solo trip was terrible on paper, but it was exactly what I needed.

I unlocked a new sense of identity and purpose. Fears that once seemed debilitating became so minuscule.

My new confidence, coupled with my amazement at mother nature, made me fall in love with solo travel.

Countless solo travels later, I still find fulfillment and wonder no matter where I go. Of course, I am much more prepared—I would never enter Death Valley without an adequate water supply.

Why Solo Travel With Pride?

I want to share my knowledge and encourage others to solo travel with pride.

I coined the phrase, “Solo travel with pride,” because I know what it is like to lack self-pride.

I hid my true self out of fear for most of my life. Religious and social stigma prevented me from feeling welcomed in most spaces. I learned to depend on myself for happiness and comfort.

Those scars still haunt me, but solo traveling helps me address the pain.

When I am surrounded by stunning scenery, entirely in the moment, I see things with a new perspective.

I find the space to forgive and dream. It is an indescribable feeling, but it has been so healing.

This Is Not Your Typical Travel Site

As you can see, solo travel is more than just capitalizing on the thrill of being a tourist.

Solo traveling with pride means you come back feeling more connected to your mind and body

That is why I dedicated this site to itineraries that revolve around nature and culture.

Those experiences make traveling more than just an escape from reality. They leave an impression on you for a lifetime.

Don’t Let Money Stop You From Solo Traveling

Have I convinced you to travel solo yet? If your answer is no, I am sure money is holding you back.

I came from a family that didn’t travel much. The first time I flew was during my senior year for a school trip. My second time was when I flew to Hawaii for college.

On top of a mountain on Hawaii during a solo hike, I had a great view of the Mountains and Honolulu.

I can solo travel because I have worked hard to save my money and mastered traveling cheaply.

People are always perplexed by how much I travel and do not understand how I do it so cheaply.

You can travel cheaply without sacrificing your happiness.
